So far, so good then for the home side though a stiffer challenge today might do them good. A test for middle order could be beneficial down the road but that won’t be the target this afternoon. Another thrashing will be the aim as England look to seal a 3–0 sweep in the 50-over format.

England have already won the series, but could this be their downfall?

New Zealand have developed an unfortunate habit of winning dead-rubber ODIs.

They’ve done it in 3/4 of their most recent bilateral series v England, including in April.

So, today could be fun… BUT it’s not great to be a team who can only win when it doesn’t matter.#EngvNZ

Jimmy is good, right? Seriously, what a phenomenal athlete.

He turns 42 at the end of the month and here he was, like the well-oiled machine he is, running off the bat, displaying textbook perfect action, running in seamers and swingers, rattling the stumps and collecting edges on his way to an incredible seven for!

Even his old enemy, Nathan “The Goat” Lyon, purred about the GOAT.

And if you’ll allow me, while I have you here, here is this week’s spin, from yours truly.

Have the proteas suffocated (again)? No, I say. I’m curious to hear your opinion.
